I don’t know what it is about this season…but I absolutely love everything about it. This is the time of year for falling leaves, pumpkin patches, pumpkin carving. The pumpkin lattes and apple cider begin to hit the stores. Sweatshirt hoodies get hung up in the closet in order to prepare for the cool days ahead. People even seem more engaging and friendlier. I so enjoy sitting at a coffee shop during my lunch and watching the people engage and smile. Something about Fall that really changes everything. AND I don’t just mean the leaves. I truly love it!!
The alarm went off at 5 am this morning…I rolled out of bed and went and laid in bed with Taylor to slowly nudge her to become consious (if you read our blog on a regular basis you will know that she is not the easiest to awake in the morning). After about 10 minutes…she turned to me and said “Mom, I’m moving.” This was news to me! I said, “where?” She quickly responded, “Tennessee”. “Tennessee?, and what are you going to do there?” She said, “To see my Dad, he needs to come here, and doesn’t so I will go there soon..” She continues to tell me that she is mad at me for getting upset with her for getting upset with me the night before. I don’t know where all this came from…but it was refreshing to see her think and advocate for herself. AND no worries, even though she may think it…she isn’t going anywhere. She knew I knew this…that’s why…as she was leaving to get on the bus, she stuck her head back in the house and said “I REALLY am moving!”
