This morning as I sent Taylor to the school bus to go to school I started thinking about how grateful I am that all three of my kiddos have very kind and accomodating bus drivers this year. They will always wait a few extra minutes for them if they are running late, help them on the bus, and show genuine interest in them. In the past, this has not been the case. Let me just tell you, that having an impatient Bus Driver who could care less…could really make a single Mom’s life much more difficult than it has to be… This got me thinking….. How often do we overlook the importance of a Bus Driver?
The alarm went off at 5 am this morning…I rolled out of bed and went and laid in bed with Taylor to slowly nudge her to become consious (if you read our blog on a regular basis you will know that she is not the easiest to awake in the morning). After about 10 minutes…she turned to me and said “Mom, I’m moving.” This was news to me! I said, “where?” She quickly responded, “Tennessee”. “Tennessee?, and what are you going to do there?” She said, “To see my Dad, he needs to come here, and doesn’t so I will go there soon..” She continues to tell me that she is mad at me for getting upset with her for getting upset with me the night before. I don’t know where all this came from…but it was refreshing to see her think and advocate for herself. AND no worries, even though she may think it…she isn’t going anywhere. She knew I knew this…that’s why…as she was leaving to get on the bus, she stuck her head back in the house and said “I REALLY am moving!”
