A Cold, An Unexpected Text, & A Garage Sale (Day 360 of 365)

Friday, November 19th 2010

I was greeted at the door today by Rosa (she watches the kiddos for me when they get home from school). She whispered “FYI: Jorden just got a text from the girl he likes telling him that she doesn’t like him.” Uggg…at that moment, my heart sank in my chest. I found myself so sad for him and so mad at her! I was asking myself…Why would she text him like that? Doesn’t she know how mean that is? AND then…..I had to take a moment to remind myself that she is only a 13 year old girl…who is just that…”a 13 year old girl”. However, I have to tell you…it hurts! It hurts to see your son have his first heartache. It hurt just as bad as watching him go through recovery from eye surgery when they had to re-attatch his retina. I don’t like it one bit! (i.e: started a financial planning class a year ago, and stopped going….Started a 10 day clease, and lasted to day 6, and I am consistently going on diets and promising myself that I will get to that weight that I am wanting…and I always seem to fall short). The fact that I did it (followed through) is BIG for me…REALLY BIG! I know this time was different…because I really felt that voice inside of me…telling me to write every day for a year back in August 2009. I believe when that voice speaks…it’s God speaking. So, I think that’s why I took it seriously.

Stacey, Our Speech Pathologist always comes to the house on Monday afternoon to work with both of the girls. She usually arrives at 1:45pm. Usually, I am still at work at this time and Taylor has usually been home for about 10 minutes before she gets to the house. Jorden happened to be home sick today, so Jase was there watching him. Stacey came over to work with Tay… and the following exchange took place…ENJOY!
