Today is the first of 7 days without Mr. Jorden. He is having a blast in Reno with my brother Adam. He is enjoying spending time with my brother and his cousins. My brother says he has been a big help and is so great with his daughters. This doesn’t surprise me. He has
always been amazing with children. Having him gone…makes me see how much he helps around here. He helps in so many ways from making sure the girls are safe, helping Erin put her walker in the car everytime we go somewhere, making sure the doors are locked when he goes to bed, and defusing any arguments the girls may have. At times he even checks on me during the middle of the night, and will often hug me while I sleep and tell me how much he loves me.
I often wonder if he has too many responsibilities for a 13 year old. If he puts too much worry/responsibilty on himself. If I put too many responsibilities on him.
If I haven’t told you already…I’ll tell you again how much Jorden loves Jesus Christ. He loves Him! He takes his bible to school each day, listens to the bible on CD when he goes to bed, prays, & he even made a Facebook Group called “On Fire For Christ Jesus“. I couldn’t be more proud of him. Of course, I am happy that he shares my faith…but most of all so proud that he shares it to all. He loves Jesus like other boys like nascar, rap music, or any other fad that may be in style. However, I can’t see his love for Jesus being a fad. He shares his faith so proudly that makes me realize what an example he is to me. I want to live and believe like Jorden. I want to have unbreakable faith just like him!
I prayed today and thanked God for choosing me to be his Mother. When things get tough or I start to question my parenting…I try to focus on all his goodness and all that is within him and can’t help but believe I have done something right.
Until Next Time,
E

Great blog E, I’m telling you something you obviously know already, but J is such a great kid. It’s really cool to see a kid his age, absolutely convicted in his faith….like you said, I wish I could be that convicted…He is definately someone we should ALL strive to emulate!

Jorden is indeed one of God’s strongest soldiers I have ever known at such a young age. He is humble, yet confident in his faith. He wants only the best for his family, and those he encounters. And being the only brother surrounded by sisters, and today a Father surrounded by daughters, next to my Dad, he is the only man in my life, and he is a REAL man.
