Something New..(236 of 365)

Saturday, July 17th 2010

I started my day pretty early today. I woke up around 6:45, and headed to the gym to meet my friend Mandi for Spin class. I love spin class because of the rapid speed and the fun vibe due to the music. I especially love taking it with a friend who I can count on for support to keep my butt moving.

The day was pretty full of time spent with my Dad who is having a challenging time getting older and understanding that he is older. I swear I think he believes he is still in his 40′s and this would be great…if he was able to take care of himself fully. However, this is not the case…and the time has come for him to need more assistant living care. I spent time taking him to different Assistant Living Residencies today. It breaks my heart to see the realization come over him that he is no longer able to do all those things he once did. I really love him and wish that he didn’t have to go through this. I miss my Daddy!

So, on this note I end this entry with my something new…

What if…Just what if….we tried something new each day? Wouldn’t it be something to look forward to? While I was in Bermuda, I started writing a list of things I always wanted to do or always wondered about. So, I kinda took it on to each day. It doesn’t have to be anything really big. It can simply be…”trying hazelnut instead of vanilla in my sugar free non fat latte”. I thought it would be something fun to do and something to encourage the kiddos to do when they come home next month.

Today I tried something new…I went to Bikram Yoga. Woah…talk about a workout. This is yoga performed in a room temperature of 104′. I always heard about it, but never knew anything about it. I think I used every single muscle, tendon, ligament that is in my body. AND I am simply exhausted! However, I feel good. I didn’t give up…I stuck through it.

Until Next Time,

E
