Like I anticipated, it was an extremely busy day getting the kiddos ready to leave bright and early in the morning. In fact, I don’t know why I am not asleep by now as it is 11:47 in the evening. I picked the kiddo’s Grandma up at the airport about an hour ago. She flew in from Tennessee to pick them up and will be flying back with them in the morning. Jorden would be able to fly by himself…and Erin would be able to accompany him (especially if it were a non-stop flight) However, all three on a four hour flight AND a layover…means that they need a chaperone! She is so good with them and loves them so…therefore, I have no worries that they are in good hands!
I took Jorden to the Retina Specialist today. Since his eye surgery in February he has had routine appointments to ensure that his retina is still attached to his left eye (his bad eye) about every 6 weeks. Today, the doctor had some concerns about his right eye (the good eye)…AND he recommended laser eye surgery asap in order to prevent any complications. Well, this causes a challenge since he will be on an airplane tomorrow morning at 7! A similar scenario happened about two years ago right before Jorden was about to see his Dad, and we were able to find a surgeon in Tennessee that would perform the surgery on him; therefore we may have to follow the same route. The only challenge that may arise is that he may not take our insurance this time. I am not a fan of sending my kiddos off anywhere when there is unfinished business such as surgeries, procedures, sicknessess, etc… However, I guess I am gonna have to let go and let someone else be the parent. It’s really difficult though.
Until Next Time,
E
