My niece Aydan is in town staying with my Mother for the week. This is a perfect opportunity for me to get a kid fix! She kept me busy today…We had a fun filled day! She is 3 years and 3 months old and such a tiny little thing and EXTREMELY animated!

On The Hunt For A Landscaper (Day 220 of 365)

06.29.10

Tuesday June 29th, 2010

Ok, so if you have followed me by now….you know that I love to video my experiences…AND if Icould have I would have loved to have on video each and every contractor that has come to my home to give me an estimate to landscape my backyard. Then you could choose!! Hiring a Landscaper has been much more of a challenge than I anticipated. I am wanting to add a small area of grass, rock, bushes all around, & even a place for a future garden. I am not asking for anything fancy…just something to get started. I have a limited budget…but am optimistic that it can be done for that price or possibly close to it. So far, I have had 8 contractors come to look at my yard. Yes, I said it…8! I wish Taylor were here…I would have her interview them and would choose by process of elimination. :-)

It is starting to become comical. I know I am young, I know I am blonde, I know I am a woman…but really?! I wasn’t born last Tuesday! During this process I have been told a wide variety of various facts about plants, and have been told by one contractor he could do what I want and then the next guy who comes tells me something completely different. I have even been asked out on a date by one guy. I am beginning to think that I need a “Rent-A-Husband”. (A man large in size, who at times can be intimidating, and who can negotiate for me just so I can bypass the “young single blonde” image).

I had a couple landscapers come out today, and by the time the last guy came out this afternoon…I caught myself only hearing “blah blah blah blah blah”. I guess that means I need to hire someone!!! Don’t get me wrong…I have gotten bids from a few contractors that I feel legit…even if it is a little more than my budget. So, I am revisiting what I can afford and what portion needs to be done now and what portion can wait until funds become available. I have narrowed it down…and pretty sure that I have the right person for the job. I’ll keep you posted!

Until Next Time,

Learning How To Be Alone (Day 219 of 365)

06.28.10

Monday, June 28th 2010

I was able to get my booty up this morning to see my trainer Ian…but then I came home and crawled into bed until 4 this afternoon. This is very out of character for me. How do single people do it? I realized that even though this is not the first summer the kids have left, it is the first summer I have been more or less on my own. Is there something wrong with me that I am not able to hack it? So far, walking around aimlessly in 24 hour Wal-Marts and people watching at late night coffee shops seems to be my past-time.

I was thinking about going and visiting my friend in San Diego this week, but after the last few days I think I have to push myself to just learn how to be alone for a little while. Being alone…isn’t a bad thing. Maybe it’s the one thing that has been needed in my life for awhile now.

Until Next Time,

E

Jorden’s Entry #4 (Day 218 of 365)

06.27.10

Sunday, June 27th 2010

Hi Blog World!

It’s me again!  I’ve heard that alot of people are asking about what’s going on over here at our Dad’s. So here’s whats up. We see our Dad about every day he goes to school Monday through Thursday. Then Thursday night either my brother and I, or my Sisters stay at his house. Who ever doesn’t stay at his house on Thursday stays Friday or Saturday night. This past Saturday we were going to go to a picnic for the Shriners but it took us a long time to find it. When we finally  found it we found out that it was just a teeny weeny park with nothing to do. So instead we went to CiCi’s and went to see Toy Story 3. I wonder what other things we are going to be doing this Summer.

Well, I’ll just have to wait and see. :)

Until Later,

Jordy

A Story In Each of Them (Day 217 of 365)

06.26.10

Saturday, June 26th 2010

I am sitting at a Coffee Shop by my home and watching all of the people walk by. This is a highly busy coffee shop because it is smack dab in the center of an outside mall and near one of the Casinos that Locals in Henderson, NV often go. There is often live music or a movie that takes place outside during the weekend of summer so tonight it seems as if it is the hot spot to be. I can sit and watch people walk by for hours. It’s amazing to see such a wide variety of characteristics in each of them. I often wonder what each of their stories is. Everyone has a story…and I bet it’s one that no one could ever imagine. I know that looking at me…no one would ever guess I am a Mother of three of the most amazing children ranging from 13 to 17 years of age and the journey that we have been on. Which causes me to wonder what other people’s stories are. Too be honest it is really quite fascinating…AND to be REALLY honest I don’t want to go home. I want to be around noise, I want to be around laughter, and happiness. I want to be around family.

I’m not sure what this means. I am starting to wonder if I have been hiding behind my children for awhile now. How do I get past this? I want answers so badly….

Until Next Time,

E
