Quitting is Not the Option! (Day 187 of 365)

Wednesday, May 26th, 2010

Ok, so I learned something new about myself today… I went to a Boot Camp class at the gym this afternoon. This is a class that is an hour class that is extremely intense and the entire class is made up to be similar to what one might experience in “boot camp”. You even have the Drill Instructor right along with it! Well, I think in my blog entry yesterday I briefly mentioned that I wasn’t feeling the greatest , therefore taking the class might not have been the smartest thing I have ever done…but apparently once you step in the class…it’s almost impossible to get out of (at least for me!)

4 and 4! IEP complete…(Day 186 of 365)

Tuesday, May 25th, 2010

On our 4th meeting with more than 4 hours sitting in a chair…just today. The IEP (Individualized Education Program) Team has finally come to an agreement in regards to Taylor’s education for the next year. Not all individuals at that meeting were excited or thrilled with my perseverence…however, overall I feel that for the first time in a long time I experienced what was a long time coming…a true IEP where the entire team involved had input and developed an “individualized education program” that what we all think will be best for Taylor and will assist with transitioning her into whats to come after High School.

A Tough Tantrum (Day 185 of 365)

Monday, May 24th 2010

It was really hard for me to get out of bed this morning. I guess it’s that Monday morning thing…AND I guess if it a challenge for me to get out of bed then I should expect a challenge from my Little Miss Tay. Those who read my blog regularly know that Taylor is definitely NOT a morning person at all. She is one of those people who wakes up best when they are able to open their eyes, and stand on their own two feet on their terms. Therefore, each morning I find myself of thinking of creative ways to get her motivated to get out of bed and get her day rolling. Today was NOT one of those days…and I am capitalizing the word “NOT” for a reason. She had NO motivation what so ever for waking up this morning. I threw out every idea I had for what I thought would be reinforcing to her…such as: Summer break being only one week away, my birthday festivities happening this weekend, getting on the computer after she got ready, and even tried adding peanut butter to her favorite breakfast shake (she loves this combination!) Needless to say…nothing worked! After arguing and debating with me every step of the way…I was able to assist her with getting dressed and found myself frequently praying that when the bus came she would choose to make the right choice and get on the bus.

Reposting A Video (Day 185 of 365)

Monday, May 24th, 2010

I made the following video a few days ago, and due to the music that I used YouTube would not play it…so I thought I would try posting it again so that you can view it.. I love looking at this video and seeing all the important people that we have been blessed with having in our lives. I’m not sure how long all of these people will be in it….because one can never know what God has planned…but nonetheless, I’m glad that he put them in our lives regardless of the length. We are pretty lucky you know!

An Synopsis of The Weekend (Day 184 of 365)

Sunday, May 23, 2010

Feet didn’t hit the floor this morning in the Little House until 9AM. That’s a sign…a sign that we had all had an extremely busy weekend and we were exhausted! The craziness started immediately on Friday after school when the girls had a hair appointment at Diva Studios here in Henderson, NV. I made an appointment with Lisa Brooks (the Owner). She attends our church and knows the girls enough that she feels very comfortable with them. Plus, she is extremely stylish herself and I wanted them each to have a fun and spunky new doo that will help emphasize each of their individual personalities! She was just the woman to do it! They look awesome…and a new video will soon to follow!
