Thanks Yet Again! (Day 161 of 365)

Thursday, April 29, 2010

The executive decision was made by me to stay home from work today. I was getting that ultra achy, sore throat, plus fever type of feeling. AND with an extra letter in the mail by Social Security Income, the twins birthday tomorrow, and a thing called life…I felt that before I send my body completely out of wack I better rest and get my bearings somewhat.

Well, I was blessed today to have my good friend Ron pick me up and take me to pick up my car early this morning, and was blessed yet again to pick up a car with a safe breaking system. I was concerned about how I was going to come up with the money to fix my car…and was blessed to find out that God took care of it yet AGAIN! (Thanks so much to you Jay!) It never ceases to amaze me how God always provides even when it seems hopeless or meaningless a check comes in the mail, a friend calls to say they care, or a stranger comes along at just the right time to make the day a little bit better. It seems when I put that “it will all work out attitude” in gear it ALWAYS does. Sometimes, I am too self-absorbed to notice when God is at work and sometimes it is clearly Divine Intervention. Not sure if it makes complete sense, but if not it will. I promise!!

Another hidden blessing happened when I went to the Social Security office this afternoon. I have to admit that I am always dreading the Social Security experience. If you have been then you know exactly what I am talking about…AND if you haven’t then I am ecstatic for you! You just never know what you are gonna get when you walk in that office. You could get the angry older gentleman that may be making a scene about something, the caseworker who has had an entirely long day of complaining from people and has adopted the attitude “I will help you if I want to help you.”, or others who have complained that they have waited way too long and continue to go to the clerk to debate that someone has cut in front of them…which in all actuality the number that they pulled has not been called yet. I bring those examples up, because I have seen all of them happen…numerous times. However, today…was different. I walked in to smiley faces…and experienced waiting less than I have in the past, and walked out of their blessed YET AGAIN! They quickly fixed the mistakes that were made and all is well for now that is.

Next mission…get rid of this cold that is a brewing!

Until Next Time,

E
