Highs & Lows (Day 126 of 365)

Thursday, March 25th, 2010

Like we do on many occasions, the kiddos and I decided to share our highs & lows of the day. This time we decided to share it with our blog family. Let me just say that the conversation went a little different than I expected. I ask you to please remember that raising any children…let alone ones with special needs quite often comes with many discussions on manners and what is appropriate versus non-appropriate around others. I promised true authenticity when writing this blog, therefore; I kept the video pretty much as it was, with limited editing. You’ll get what I am referring to when watching the video. Elective Time! (Day 125 of 365)

Wednesday, March 24th, 2010

Well, it’s that time of year again. The twins came to me today with the class requirements for next year. They were both excited to choose an elective. It reminds me back when I was in school and was so excited to look over all of the different course descriptions of the electives that were possible. Geez, back then it seemed like there were 7-8 choices (i.e: band, choir, orchestra, art, drama, office aide, & carpentry (whatever that was called )). Now, it seems like there is 20-30 choices. They still have the original classes available with others like Photography, Peer Mentors, Production, etc. Both my kiddos had their top 3 choices chosen…with Jorden choosing Peer Mentorship with children with Autism and Erin choosing Choir II both as their #1 choices. I asked Jorden if he was sure that he wanted to be a Peer Mentor and he said ,”I’m positive”. AND Erin said, “I’m positive too Mom.” So, it seems like it’s set…now it’s in the Counselor’s hands.

Tuesday, March 23rd, 2010

Well, my first day of getting up early was a bust. Especially since the alarm was set to 4:30 PM and not AM. To be honest…it makes me wonder if I set it to PM intentionally…to avoid starting my day that early. However, even though I was determined and worked hard to sticking to my diet and was able to work out immediately after work with my trainer. Let me just say…he kicked my butt! This is gonna be a long 3 months…and it is going to be well worth it. My kids are going to like the newer me…I just know it!

Monday, March 22nd, 2010

On Friday, Taylor went on an all night excursion with the high schoolers at our church. We asked Jase to go along to assist Tay if needed. Jase and I didn’t think Tay would be able to make it past 1am. She showed us all! Watch the fun that they had.
