A Mix of Madness (Day 64 of 365)

Friday, January 22, 2010

Happy Birthday Mom! Today is my wonderful mother’s birthday. I would tell you how old she is today…but first of all..she has a thing about that AND would kill me! Second of all, I don’t really know how old she is. She has mis-represented her age for all of my life…therefore, I lost track of what her true age is. In fact, one time I helped her with her taxes and the IRS kicked them back to us…because they said that they did not have the correct information. My Mom has mis-led people about her age so much that I truly believe she doesn’t know how old she is herself. Let’s just say she is in the 60′s range…and to end on her good side I will say the earlier than the latter. I love you Mom and hope you have a great day. We will do something next week just you and I! I look forward to it! Just so you as a reader get to know what a hoot my Mom is I recorded a little snippet of her and I conversing. You will see where I get it from.

Seizures Still Stink! (Day 63 of 365)

Thursday, January 21st, 2010

Last night, Taylor had a seizure. She hadn’t had one in about 7 months (since she had a shunt revision surgery). I am really bummed because I thought that there might be a possibility that the seizures were gone. Anything is possible right? I still believe that. Anyway, a friend was over my house helping me and he was able to film a little bit of what it is like after one of the kiddos has a seizure. Again, I am really grateful for friends in my life who are there for us. Read More

A Scheduling Day (Day 61 of 365)

Tuesday, January 19th, 2010

Yesterday, the kids and I took Jorden to the Retina Specialist. Jorden has a cataract in his left eye (he is blind in this eye and has already had surgery to re-attach his retina) and due to his past surgery a cataract has developed in that eye…AND it has to be removed because now the cataract is blocking the view of the retina. There is so much detail and explanation to what is going on with his eyes and to be honest I don’t really want to go into it too much tonight. I just know that the surgery will be mid to end February. Jorden is ready to get it over with. There are many things that are contingent on the surgery going well. Too much to go into…so please just pray that all will go well, and he will only require two weeks or less out of school.

Celebrating the Little Moments (Day 60 of 365)

Monday, January 18th, 2010

First of all…I would like to say that today I found myself thinking of the all of the individuals that have been affected by the earthquake in Haiti. My family’s hearts go out to all who have family there or who have been affected by the devastation. I know during this challenging economy…many of us Americans may not have much to give…however I invite you to think of something to do to help…whether it is give blood, give money, volunteer time, or simply pray for the families would be better than nothing….and I am sure would be greatly appreciated!
